Saudi Government has decided to fine Kafeel for not giving passport and copy of contracts to the employees. According to the reports of Arab media, Kafeel will have to give fine of 2000 Saudi Riyal for taking passport of employees. 5000 Saudi Riyal will be imposed if Kafeel will didn’t provide copy of the contract to workers. Fine would be doubled if they repeat this exercise. Saudi Government is also ready to fine those Kafeel’s who don’t give salaries to their employees and forced them for extra work. In the new Labor Laws of Saudi Arabia, keeping employee passports and not giving them contract copies have been declared as punishable offenses.
According to new law made by Ministry of Labor Saudi Arabia, those Kafeel’s who took other services from the employees not written in the contract, or asked them to pay expenses which are responsibility of Kafeel, will have to pay fine of 15,000 Saudi Riyal. Those companies who force employees to work during the holidays will be also fined according to new law.
It is a major problem of all the expatriates working in Saudi Arabia and most of the Kafeel’s took passport of the employees for blackmailing them not to leave. Pakistani’s and other nationals working in Saudi Arabia are happy with this decision and asked the government to implement this law as soon as possible.
