A Rajput from a famous Minhas tribe was born in Karachi on 17th February 1951, he is famous as Rashid Minhas. He was also famous for being the youngest who have received Nishan-e-Haider award. He is one of the famous Hero’s of Pakistan who sacrifice their life in 1971. There are many documenters and films being filmed on his life.
Minhas was mesmerized with aviation technology and history, he was found of collecting models of Jets and Aircrafts. He studied Military history and Aviation history from Karachi University, before that he was a part of Saint Mary’s Lalazar. Where he completed his O and A Levels.
August 21st, 1971 was the day when he laid to rest. He took off his T-33 jet with Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman after receiving clearance from traffic control, where later on flying to couple of miles he found Matiur Rahman forcing him to take jet in Indian boundary. Matiur Rahman was a Bengali pilot instructor who was later investigated that he was in the favor of joining back there countryman in Bangladesh. PAF base Masroor received a message from Minhas about plan hijack and later his plan was crash just away from the Indian border.
