The public holiday schedule for the year 2015 has been published. There will be in total 17 holidays with 1 additional holiday for the Christians only. The first holiday of the year has been observed on January 3rd, 2015 on the birthday of the Holy Prophet Mohammad (S.A.W). Kashmir day will be observed on 5th February, 2015. Pakistan day will be observed on the 23rd March, while 1st May will be a holiday due to Labour Day. The holy festival of Eid-ul-Fitr at the end of Ramazan will be granted as a holiday on both 18th and 19th July, 2015. These holidays will on a weekend, so don’t expect a long Eid holiday this time.
The Independence Day holiday will fall on Friday, 14th August. Eid-ul-Azha will come on the 23rd of September. 2015. The government will give holidays from the 23rd till the 25th of September 2015. The Ashura day will be granted as a holiday on the 23rd of October 2015. November 09th will be the birthday of Mohammad Iqbal and the 25th November will be the birthday of Guru Nanak. The Urs of Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai will fall on 26th November. Eid milad un-Nabi’s second holiday will come on 24th December. Eid milad un-Nabi will come twice in this year.
December 25 will also be a holiday due to Qaid-e-Azam’s birthday and due to Christmas day. The Christians will get a holiday on the 26th December due to Christmas.
