Pandemics come and go, but humanity lasts forever. The novel coronavirus has made us realize that helping each other during crisis is more rewarding than any other deed. Lockdown restrictions were recently eased in Pakistan but the uncertainty continues.
People are scared to step out even during open hours because of possible exposure and risk. To tackle this uncertainty, Telenor came to the rescue of the people by launching PIN IT feature in MyTelenor App through which people can help each other stay safe during this pandemic.
The feature allows users to find location of the nearest essential store without stepping out. What this features essentially does is, it allows people to drop pin of essential locations near them like grocery stores, pharmacies, super stores etc along with their status whether these are open or not. By looking at this information, people can make informed decision about where to go for what based on what is open essentially reducing their exposure to the ongoing prevalent threat.
This PIN IT feature is truly the need of the hour and is one of my great initiatives we have seen from Telenor during the whole COVID-19 crisis aimed at helping Har Pakistani. “We are proud to bring yet another industry first initiative to ensure the safety of millions across the country through the PIN IT feature in MyTelenor App.At Telenor Pakistan, we have taken the leap to enable users to digitally come together as a community and help each other by sharing information to stay safe,” said Umair Mohsin, chief marketing officer Telenor Pakistan.
To use the feature, go to My Telenor App and tap on the PIN IT icon on the home screen. Find status of essential locations near you by selecting the category of outlets you are interested to find out about. Or you could also, add new pins of different outlets and update their status for others to see.
