Rehana is among few Pakistani women who are going against norms by riding rickshaw. She was forced to earn a living because of extreme poverty. She lives in Fatehgarh, Lahore with her 3 children.
She narrated her story that after her husband left she was worried how she will take care of her children but she claims everyone helped her.
People funded me for the rickshaw, the showroom owner eased the process and offered me discounted rickshaw and my son taught me how to ride it. A man from petrol pump connected him with a friend who got her trained at careem and now she works for the taxi service.
Before starting this work many advised her that she will be harassed by men but she claims that all passengers have been very supportive. Rehana doesn’t give more time to the rickshaw service because she also takes care of her house.
Her all children are going to private schools, to take care of her religious education they also go for Quran classes after which Rehana sends them to tuition.
