Islamabad: Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has announced that the online registration and issuance of Pakistani passports will be started from April 2016. While addressing the members of National Assembly during Q & A session, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan told that issuance and online registration of machine readable passports will be started next year in the month of April. He said that the system will be initially launched within the country, and will be later expanded to the offices of Pakistani Passport abroad.
Interior Minister told that 83 embassies of Pakistan in different countries of the world have the authority to issue machine readable Pakistani passports, and all the particular embassies will start online services next year. He told the Parliamentarians that different governments in past have given relaxation in the rules but the current government has cancelled around 2000 passports in the national interest. Minister said that the issuance and online registration of CNIC has been already introduced but it will take few months to strengthen the system.

Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan also brief that thousands of fake ID Cards have been already blocked and strict actions have been taken against those who have been involved in this.
