Islamabad: As many as six banners have been placed right at the entrance of the United Nations Office in Geneva stating remarks against the State of Pakistan and its disagreeable friendship with China, supporting the cause of greater Gilgit Baltistan. The banners were placed yesterday on the day of the Universal Period Review of Pakistan.
The posters contained messages stating that ‘Pakistan is selling Gilgit-Baltistan to China’ and ‘Chinese building military cell towers in Gilgit Baltistan.’
They had messages written and photographs posted on them regarding alleged atrocities and injustices committed by Pakistan in Gilgit-Baltistan. Names of individuals or organizations were not written on them that made it difficult to spot out those behind this ‘advocacy’ effort.
However, one banner contained a portrait of nationalist leader, MLA Nawaz Khan Naji with a message against “forced accession” stating ‘We are neither Pakistanis nor Kashmiris.’
Meanwhile, three similar placards were placed outside the entrance advocating the rights of Balochistan, another volatile region of Pakistan.
