Pakistan Railways is going to introduce e-ticketing (electronic-computerize ticketing) system soon. Federal Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique disclosed that soon Pakistan Railways is going to launch electronic ticketing service for their users in all over Pakistan. Railways Minister said that the work on this project is almost completed.
United Bank Limited (UBL) has offered their service for the e-ticketing but other A-class banks are also welcome if they offer good competitive charges.
Thousands of people travel by trains in Pakistan every day, by using this facility passenger will be able to pay for their tickets online through credit/debit cards.
This system will be able to provide benefits like less corruption chances and better seat capitalization. Through this electronic system booking system of ticket will be quicker and better. With this digital ticketing system passengers will now be able to book and pay for their ticket from home/office or any where through computers or mobile phones.
Previously, Pakistan Railway used to offer e-ticketing services in 2008 but was stopped when new management took over.
