The Pakistan Counter Terrorism Authority has announced to create a dedicated telephone extension 1717 to report terrorism and terror related complaints. The Pakistan Counter Terrorism department has urged the citizens to cooperate with them in the war against terrorism and report any suspicious activity in their vicinity. The 1717 emergency helpline will be working round the clock and has been equipped with a state-of-the-art system.
Various law enforcement agencies have taken measures after the tragic Peshawar attack that has exposed gaping holes in the law enforcement agencies. Fingers have been pointed in the overall fabric. As a response the law enforcement agencies are moving forward by establishing emergency help lines to give the citizens instant access.
In this case also, the 1717 emergency helpline has been activated for the citizens to report any suspicious activity happening in their vicinity. This may include a suspicious vehicle stationed around or someone leaving a suspicious bag. Any suspicious movement in the neighborhood of tenants or their meeting with suspicious people etc.
