High Military sources told a private TV channel that in meetings with US Chief of Central Command General James Mattis, Pakistan conveyed a clear cut message to US that war and dialogue cannot run in Afghanistan at a same time, adding that US should clear its future Afghan policy. Declaring the Taliban of Haqqani network would harm the pace process.
If US is helpless in Afghanistan and using the option of dialogue then why US is threatening Pakistan to carry out military actions inside Pakistan.
According to sources, it is also cleared in these meetings that controversy between the statements issued by US State Department and Pentagon is present, adding that declaring Sirajuddiin Haqqani and other Taliban leaders as terrorists would harm the peace dialogues.
It is also cleared to US that Pakistan played its due role for restoration of peace and the peace process in Afghanistan,; instead of this fact Pakistan is facing allegations from US.
According to military sources in result of ten year war if US thinks that dialogue is the only option for peace, then why it is threatening Pakistan to conduct actions inside Pakistan.
The sources said, Pakistan also suggested cease fire in war between Taliban and NATO forces in Afghanistan because peace would progress if terror stopped.
Sources said that General James Mattis supported the point of view of Pakistani military leadership and ensured to play its due role to decrease tension between the two countries. (SANA)
