Karachi: According a recent report by World Bank, more than six billion people now use cell phones globally taking the rally to about three-quarters of the world’s total population, out of which around five billion people in developing countries have now an easy access to the mobile phones.
The World Bank has crafted the report about the number of mobile subscriptions both post-paid and pre-paid used worldwide. Around 120 million mobile users are in Pakistan and out of these 120 million mobile users most of the people does not know English. In Pakistan Urdu text messages are increasing day by day.
Earlier in 2000, the mobile phone users were lesser than one billion but now with the hike in the use of mobile phones to generate new source of revenues along with boosting their lifestyles, the amount of cell phone users has increased by such a huge margin in just a decade.
The report released by World Bank infoDev also reveals that the ownership of numerous subscriptions is also becoming ever more common, suggesting that the number will soon get pass that of the human population.
