On Friday Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi inaugurated the oil & gas reserves in Jhandial near Islamabad which are considered to be one of the biggest oil & gas reserves in the country.
Primary estimates indicate that there are reserves are worth of billions. The initial report reveals that the gas reserves are of 239 billion standard cubic feet while oil reserves are of 23 million barrels.
Man major personalities were also present in the inauguration ceremony including Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, Defense Minister Khurram Dastgir & Minister of State for Petroleum Jam Kamal.
The Jhandial well is located some 83 kilometers away from the capital in the Attock District. This discovery was result of at least five years of hard work by Pakistan Oil fields limited (POL).
The PM was briefed about the details of the oil wells after which it was decided that the work should start as soon as possible. He congratulated all citizens on this great discovery.
