If anyone visits Jannat ul Baqi (al-Baqee) located to the southeast of the Masjid al-Nabawi in Medina, Saudi Arabia he/she will see four to five notice boards placed.
The notices are as follows:
Dear visitor: seeking help and aid by virtue of the dead and asking them for intercession is associating partners with Allah (shrik).
Visiting the graveyard of al-Baqee,, has nothing to do with the rituarls of Hajj.
Dear visitor: praying facing towards the graves is forbidden in Islam, according to scholarly consensus.
The messenger of Allah said: “One prayer in this mosque of mine is better than a thousand prayers offered elsewhere, except al-Masjid al-Haraam.”
Dear visitor: tying pieces of cloth, leaving money and touching the walls and gets of al-Baqee,, are innovations, so do not that.
Dear visitor: al-Baqee,, is a public graveyard and ascribing certain graves to particlaur Sahaabah is based on conjecture.
