The Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Syed Munawar Hasan has said that the nation must keep the rulers under pressure to ensure the implementation of the APC’s decisions and to see that the rulers remained on the right track.
Addressing the Friday congregation at Mansoora mosque, he said this was the opportune moment to get out of the US slavery but if the masses were not vigilant, the rulers would soon bow down before Washington.
The US, he said, was blaming Pakistan for its failures despite our huge sacrifices.
He said the terrorism and lawlessness in the country was primarily due to pro-US policies of the rulers.
The JI chief said , the civil and military leadership attending the APC had finally accepted the JI stance that issues should be resolved through dialogue instead of through force.
He said had the government implemented the decisions of the previous APCs and the parliament’s resolutions, the US could not have dared to hurl threats at this moment. He warned that if the rulers once again attempted to put the APC decisions at the backburner, they wont escape the wrath of the masses.
Syed Munawar Hasan said, the JI was the only party that had also been raising its voice about the problems and the deprivations of the general public besides the vital national issues. It had opposed the military operation in the Khyber P and Baluchistan
and had also informed the people of the serious consequences of the military operations.
He welcomed the formation of a parliamentary committee to report on the implementation of the APC decisions and parliament’s previous resolutions as a positive step. (SANA)
