The verification process for Computerized National Identity Cards (CNIC) has once again started by National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).
Different Boards have been formed by NADRA to re-verify the issued CNICs which has made some astonishing revelations.
[junkie-alert style=”green”] The Board revealed that at least 16,000 NICs are being used by foreigners from which an estimated 11,776 are still residing in Pakistan. The board also believes that around 67,983 intruders are suspected to be in Pakistan. [/junkie-alert]
Many NADRA officials have been involved in taking bribes and selling CNICs to foreigners while citizens of Pakistan faced hardships during acquiring NADRA.
The credibility of NADRA was questioned after a US drone strike violated the sovereignty of Pakistan by firing missiles in the province of Balochistan.
The drone strike killed a man with a Pakistani CNIC of ‘Muhammad Wali’ but it was a fake identity as the man killed was leader of Afghan Taliban ‘Mulla Akhtar Mansour’.
