NA-247 and NA-243 are gripped by election fever just like any other constituency in Pakistan but what makes these two constituencies important are the heavy weights candidates. But many are questioning the decision of MQM to contest these constituencies with their powerful leaders, calling it a gamble and conspiracy.
In NA-247 Farooq Sattar is the contestant from MQM Pakistan and will face Arif Alvi (PTI), Jibran Nasir (Independent), General (R) Pervez Musharraf (AMPL) & Mustafa Kamal (PSP). In 2013 Arif Alvi won the elections, will Farooq Sattar will be able to secure his seat?

Similarly in NA-243 MQM’s Syed Ali Raza Abidi will face PTI chairman Imran Khan, Shehla Raza (PPP), Muzammil Qureshi (PSP) and Osama Razi (MMA). In 2013 Muzammil Qureshi won the elections from MQM tickets.

Farooq Sattar and Syed Ali Raza Abidi are among those MQM leaders who are said to be associated with Altaf Hussain. According to some sources they have been nominated from these constituencies so that they may fail to win, in other words it was to side line these two leaders.
Others believe that the reason to nominate such strong candidates was because MQM wanted to secure these two constituencies and that was not possible with weaker candidates.
