KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) is observing strike today against the provincial budget in Sindh. MQM termed the budget of Sindh public enemy. According to details, MQM has rejected the budget being presented by the Sindh government calling it public enemy. Rabita Committee of MQM announced strike yesterday and appealed the businessmen and transporters to close commercial activities on Sunday. Due to the strike, hotels, shops and petrol pumps that opened in various areas in morning today were closed whereas traffic is short on roads.
Excluding Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Nawabshah, Mirpur Khas, Tando Adam Khan and other cities of Sindh are also observing strike against the provincial budget. It is pertinent to mention here that the Sindh government yesterday presented the budget of 2015-16 over 7 trillion in which 49 trillion were kept for Karachi and 37 trillion were kept for Hyderabad however, no mega project was kept for big cities.
On the other hand, Rabita Committee of MQM has appealed that transporters and businessmen should restore their businesses in the afternoon at 1 O’clock. MQM wants to record a half day strike against annual budget of Sindh.
