Lahore: The Second Professional event “PFC 2” of the newly popular sports Mixed Martial Arts was held here on Sunday (15th April) at Punjab Stadium, organized by local fighters in collaboration with PAK MMA.
A total of 11 action-packed fights took place in the event where local fighters with fighters from Gujranawala, Gujjar khan, Peshawar, Quetta, Islamabad, Karachi and other areas of the country participated.
The enthralling even kicked off with a submission victory for Bashir Ahmad, captain of Team Shaheen, choking out the opponent in just 26 seconds. On the highlight, Ovais Khan an emerging fighter from Karachi stunned the show by knocking out much experienced Uloomi Karim Shaheen, one of the top two fighters of Pakistan in the third round
The winners were rewarded with a winning bonus while other fighters participating in the event were also been paid by the organizers. While talking to AW, the official expressed that the talent and fighting quality of the local fighters is increasing rapidly and it is expected that Pakistani fighters would participate in an International MMA tournament ‘SFL 3’ in India this May.
Metal band Takatak also performed at the second high class MMA event in the city. The organization has shown positive intent to hold the next edition in Islamabad and if they get good response, then a possibility of organizing such an event is possible in country’s largest city, Karachi the next year.
