Maulana Fazlur Rehman Says Malala Attack Was A ‘Drama’

maulana fazlur rehmanLahore:  Chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Sunday blamed the government of being a slave to US approval for its external, internal and economic policies. He also claimed that the attack on Malala Yousafzai was nothing but a drama.

While addressing the ‘Islam Zindabad Conference’ in Karak, Maulana said that there was no sign of an injury on the head of teenage activist after the bandage was removed.

The JUI-F chief added that despite so many suspicions, he expressed sympathy with the little girl as “raising a hand” on women is forbidden in Islam, but there were other “daughters of the nation like Aafia Siddiqui” who also worked to promote education in the country.

“Aafia Siddiqui was sentenced to 86 years of detention by a US court even though there is no proof of links between her and Al Qaeda,” he said.

Active leader of recently restored MMA said that Malala was not the only one who faced injustice in the country, there are lots of other women who are killed or injured in US drone strikes. On average, 15 to 20 people are killed in Karachi every day.”
