Maryam Nawaz, daughter of Ex-Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, will contest the 2018 elections from both provincial and national assembly seats, expects many analysts. According to the sources from inside PMLN she will be the next Chief Minister of Punjab.
She was ranked among top 11 women of the world in 2017 by renowned New York Times reflecting how influential and powerful she is. Previously during the election campaign for her mother in NA-120 and during the case proceedings against her family she proved herself capable to lead the stronghold of PMLN.
Current Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif will likely be contesting for National Assembly and it is expected that if PMLN succeeds in making a government then the next Prime Minister will be Shahbaz Sharif.
The reason for choosing Shahbaz Sharif are many, the most prominent reason is his successful governance in Punjab. He succeeded in securing the trust of PMLN supporters in Lahore and other strongholds of PMLN.
The Metro, Orange Train, renovation of schools and other programmes of Punjab Chief Minister are being considered as a strong base for the 2018 elections during which not only PTI will be giving tough time to the ruling party but new religious parties such as Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan (TPL) of Khadim Rizvi and Milli Muslim League (MML).
Previously there were rifts between both brothers and their families on the future of PMLN. During NA-120 campaign the rifts become prominent when Hamza Shahbaz suddenly left Pakistan. Later Maryam Nawaz met Shahbaz Sharif & Hamza Shahbaz ending the internal family crisis.
It should be noted that Maryam Nawaz is also facing corruption charges in accountability courts along with her father Nawaz Shairf, husband Captain Safdar, brothers Hassan & Hussain Nawaz.
