A Fake notice is circulating on social media claiming that the UAE General Director of Residency & Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) has suspended the issuance of Visa to Pakistanis. GDRFA rejected these rumors and said that the visas are not suspended, Khaleej Times reported.
The fake news not only went viral on social media but even mainstream media reported that the visa is suspended. Geo news quoted Naeem Sharif, the chairman of Travel Agents Association of Pakistan (TAAP), saying that visas are suspended temporarily while in reality no notice was issued.
1.2 million Pakistanis are living in UAE while many more will visit it on New Year Celebrations.
GDRFA responded to these fake notices and attribution of these notices to GDRFA by saying that visa situation and policy is being followed normally. They also ensured that Pakistani citizens are welcomed to apply for Dubai visa.
This is not the first time that such rumors are spreading online rather just few months ago it was claimed that Dubai has suspended the three month visit visa (90 Days) for Pakistani citizens, later it was rejected by officials as a rumor.
