On July 27, 2023, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) introduced IRIS 2.0, an improved version of the tax filing system created by Pakistan Revenue Automation Limited (PRAL).
IRIS 2.0 is a big step forward as it offers a much better user experience, works more efficiently, and saves money for the FBR. The earlier versions, IRIS 1.0 and IRIS 1.1 were groundbreaking but had some issues.
The previous versions didn’t perform as well as hoped, and users weren’t delighted with them. Also, they needed expensive hardware during busy times to keep up with the demands.
IRIS 2.0 has gone through significant enhancements. It has a more robust backend and a user-friendly design, making it easier for users and the FBR to use without problems.
Upgrading to IRIS 2.0 will make the FBR’s tax filing operations better and faster. This will help save money on expensive hardware. The improved user experience will make people more satisfied when using it.
What Can You Do With IRIS 2.0?
The tax filing software “IRIS,” stands for “Integrated Risk Information System.” It is an online portal that allows people to:
