Most of the internet users are teenagers who spent hours daily on online playing games, watching movies, chatting with friends or on social sites.
But a new research has revealed that it has adverse affect on human brain, especially on teenagers because at that human brain is still under development.
The research was based on a small sample of 18 university students who were nineteen years old and spent 8-13 hours on internet. Their MRI and mental state was compared with other students who spent just 2 hours on internet.

It was found that using internet caused damage to the cortex area of brain which is responsible for processing of memory, emotions, sight, hearing and speech.
The study was published in scientific journal PLoS, which was based on observation of Chinese students. It is estimated that about 24 million Chinese youth are addicted to internet.
