Karachi: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has demanded of the authorities concerned of provincial and federal governments to ensure provision of basic necessities to the industrial zones of Karachi. In a statement issued here on Wednesday, Hafiz Naeem expressed his deep concerns over the non-availability of basic necessities including water, gas and electricity to the industrial zones of Karachi.
He stressed upon the authorities concerns to take effective steps in order to resolve the issues of traders and employees, as the industrial zones of the city could not be run properly without the resolution of those issues.
He termed the absence of basic necessities to the industrial zones “a sheer apathy” of government authorities.
Hafiz Naeem further said that thousands of industrial zones in different areas including SITE, Federal B area, Landhi, Korangi, North Karachi and Bin Qasim have contributed a lot in the national exchequer. However; the absence of basic necessities in those industrial zones depicted negligence of government authorities.
He further said that the government should take effective measures in order to eliminate extortionists, as everyone including the people and business community are well aware that around 250people have been set ablaze live in the Baldia Factory on refusal to pay extortion to the extortionists.
Hafiz Naeem further suggested that one fire station along with all necessary equipment including fire tenders and snorkel should be constructed in each of the industrial zones, adding that the transfer and posting of police officials in those industrial areas should be made with the consultation of the stakeholders of that industrial zone.
