Delhi: Indian Captain and wicket keeper Mahendar Singh Dhoni at a press conference held today presented doubt about his presence in the team tomorrow at the 3 and last ODI match scheduled to take place at the Ferozshahpur stadium on January 6 between India and Pakistan.
During the press conference the wicket keeper batsman spoke about his back pain that may restrict him from playing tomorrow. He said that in case he fails to appear tomorrow at the ground, he will be replaced by Dinesh Karthik who is also one of the very fine batsmen of India.
When asked about the captaincy, he said that it would be taken over by Virendar Sehwag but nothing is sure.
It is pertinent here to mention that India has had lost two matches to Pakistan in the T20 and ODI series in this bilateral series, organized by the ICC. Indian’s defeat in the last match has created anger amongst the Indian nation and the players are heavily criticized by the viewers, analyst, experts and especially the Indian media.
It is worthwhile to say that before too, Mahendra Singh had been in limelight due to his not so well performances and controversies have been created against his captaincy. It is doubted that he might have presented “back pain” reason to prevent himself from further being criticized. Questions are being raised against Indian team performance and it is said that it might be the result of it that he wants to make it an excuse.
