Karnah, Line Of Control: Indian Government had installed a powerful transmitter at Karnah sector of line of control (LOC) to stop the transmission of Pakistan television (PTV) and other private television channels, while due to the installation of this transmitter the transmission of Indian channel Door Darshan also has been seen. According to a report published in a newspaper of Indian Occupied Kashmir, last year the Indian government had installed a transmitter of worth of billion rupees at Karnah to telecast the transmission of Indian television channels in far flung areas, but due to installation of the transmitter the people of these areas are unable to watch any Pakistani channel as well as any Indian channel.
The government while installing the transmitter at Kanah claimed that now it is possible for the villagers to watch the transmission of Door Darshan as well as other Indian television channels. A local resident Muhammad Ismail Khan has said that the government had made a small television tower at Khorpara Karnah which has been destroyed in the shelling of 2000, adding that this TV tower provides transmission of Door Durshan to half of the population but the transmission has been closed with the destruction of tower.
He said that after this the biggest building of Karnah prepared and people ensured that now they can watch the transmission of other Indian channels but the people of Kundi, Dildar, Buttpura, Chanipura, Tengdar and other dozen valleys do not have access to these transmissions.
People told that before 1995, people of Karnah Tehsil were able to watch the transmission of PTV and for this purpose, they just install a small antenna at the roofs of their houses but after the installation of the transmitter, the people do not have access for both Indian and Pakistani television channels.
