New Delhi: Indian Media has claimed that the Indian Foreign Secretary Subrahmanyam Jaishankar briefed envoys from 25 countries including US, UK, China, Russia & France on surgical strike carried out in Pakistan. This was confirmed by Indian External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Vikas Swarup.
Indian Foreign Secretary claimed that “terror launch” pads were destroyed inside Pakistan in a “classic counter terrorism operation”, a claim that Pakistan and independent analysts had denied. He briefed the envoys that the purpose of this operation was to stop militants from carrying terror attacks from Pakistan.

Pakistan had denied the claim of surgical strikes and had accused India of carrying out unprovoked firing on Pakistani checkpoints at LOC, in which two Pakistani soldiers were martyred.
The relations between the two countries have deteriorated after Indian army Camp in Uri was attacked. India accused Pakistan for the attack whereas Pakistan called it a staged attack to divert the world attention from human rights violations in Kashmir.
