Former Pakistan cricket team captain and Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) leader Aamir Sohail has blamed World Cup-winning former captain Imran Khan for the current failure in Pakistan cricket.
Aamir Sohail said: “I want to say clearly here and for once we must face the truth that Imran is responsible for the state of affairs in our cricket,” Aamir Sohail was talking with host in cricket show on a news channel after Pakistan lost to India by 8 wickets (D/L method) in a rain affected match. Pakistan batting legend Zaheer Abbas and Younis Khan was also guest in the show.
Aamir Sohail a veteran of 46 Test and 147 One Day Internationals (ODIs) said that Imran encouraged younger bowlers to tamper with the ball. Aamir added that because of this tampering culture we were not able to produce good fast bowlers and quality openers. Aamir Sohail stated this when former fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar said that pakistan cricket team dressing room needs someone like Imran Khan who can guide and produce quality players.
However cricket experts believe that this statement of Aamir Sohail is not justified and it looks that he has said these things as a PML-N leader.
