Karachi: Internet acquiring has been launched by Habib Bank Limited in collaboration with Visa Inc’s CyberSource. According to this service, the customers will be able to conduct e-commerce businesses and accept online payments online through Visa and other scheme credit and debit cards. Online payments processing has been provided by CyberSource, which is a payment management company.
Habib Bank Limited has tried to give its customers a unique experience. This specific service will be a huge leap in advancing its services. HBL is currently rated as AAA in long term and A-1+ in its short term with respect to its stable outlook. This service will further develop its image.
HBL was the first commercial bank to be created in Pakistan in 1947. It has now grown its branches and has become the largest private sector bank with over 1,500 branches and 1,300 ATMs across Pakistan. HBL was privatized by the government of Pakistan in 2004, after which AKFED (Agha Khan Fund for Economic Development) got 51% of the bank’s shareholdings and hence control over the management. The Government of Pakistan holds about 42.5% of the shares, while the remaining 7.5% are public owned.
HBL offers products and services for its customers in retail and consumer banking and has the largest corporate banking portfolio in the country.
