The Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro bus system serves the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad in Pakistan. this rapid transit system is 24km long and uses a dedicated bus lane for its entire route covering 24 bus stations. The project was inaugurated by the prime Minister of Pakistan, indicating PKR 60 billion for the project.
Save the Nation Pakistan and Islamabad have recently installed a Panic Alert system and button in all the metro bus stations in the Islamabad area to ensure safety of the passengers. The Panic Alert Buttons are directly connected through the control server to 16 different places such as the Police Control, Capital Safety Program Offices, Rescue 15 Stations and Vehicles of Quick Response Forces of Police and Rangers.
The panic buttons can be activated by the security staff of the metro bus stations in case of an emergency situation. Information will be sent to 16 different places within 5 seconds and the police quick response force will be dispatched immediately. Save the Nation will also train and educate the administrative operational and security staff of the Metro Bus System about the situations in which the panic button should be activated.
