Hardees is one of the international food franchise operating in Pakistan that opened its outlets in Pakistan with a bang. It specializes in burgers and fries with its special size burgers and fillings. Recently, this food franchise suffered a blow when its outlet was closed in Lahore due to concerns about using expired food products. The Hardees’s M.M Alam Road Karachi branch in Lahore has been sealed off by the Punjab Food Authority as they were caught using expired ketchup in their food.
An image of one of the expired bottles of ketchup has been circulating over the internet. The controversy relating to the usage of expired and low quality ingredients has been circulating around. Mc Donald’s was also criticized for using meat products from Hussy and foods in China, whose products had already been banned in China itself.
These international food chains already charge too much for their food and if they do not take care of the quality of food ingredients being used and to implement international food standards if they claim to serve food according to the international standards and are charging their customers as such.
