ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Gilani on Saturday insist on the nation to unite in these trying times and help the flood victims in Sindh.
In a telecasted address to the nation, Gilani strut about the recent floods in Sindh as well as other natural calamity the nation faced in recent years, including the 2005 earthquake, last year’s floods and also the wave of terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He praised the nation for screening unity and strength in testing times as well as appreciating the efforts of private and public relief work agencies and the armed forces. He also thanked the foreign agencies for their efforts.
Gilani spoke about President Zardari’s appeal to the UN for an international appeal to help Pakistan in facing this calamity. He said the widespread damage caused by the floods was much more than what predictable earlier.
