Lahore (Cultural Report): Famous actor of the decade of 1980’s Gayyur Akhtar says that the current stage dramas are now off rail and to bring them back on track lot of work has to be done, writers must leave the past sad emotional stories as people are now fed up with same stories all the time. He further said that stage dramas were meant to be a huge source of entertainment but unfortunately few self centered and offensive people has made it a worst place.
Ghayyur Akhtar who was a popular Pakistani actor renowned for his comedy roles in the 1980’s, almost vanished from the screen in the next decade after the Lollywood industry crashed. He spread smiles over millions of faces his significant performances are in Sitara, a classical PTV drama and Afsar Bekar e Khas which was highly appreciated.
Ghayyur Akhtar says whatever is happening nowadays is insult to the stage dramas, theater and to the real art of people. People using inappropriate language and producers who promote cheap activities must be imposed with life ban.
