Each year during Ramazan Muslims pay fitra to poor and needy people so that they can also enjoy the blessings of Ramadan & Eid. It is an obligation which should be paid before offering the namaz of Eid-ul-Fitr.
The rates of Fitra are dependent on different ingredients. The minimum amount for Fitra in 2017 is Rs. 100 per person but people are encouraged to pay according to their income. The Fitra rates according to Chairman of Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman are as follows:
Wheat = Rs. 100
Grains = Rs. 240
Dates = Rs. 1,600
Raisins = Rs. 1,600

Wheat = Rs. 100
Grains = Rs. 200
Dates = Rs. 1,000

It is also known as Zakat al-Fitr and it is an obligation on all Muslims & each individual is obliged to pay his Fitra but usually it is paid by the guardian of the family, which in most cases is the husband or father.
