KARACHI: The fire in a factory near Valika Chowrangi in Site Town Karachi erupted yesterday evening that has not been put off yet. 90% of fire has been quenched after 14 hours of its eruption whereas the fire has been termed as third degree.
According to the chief fire officer, Ehteshamuddin, the fire that was erupted yesterday in a factory near Valika Chowrangi in Site area has been quenched 90% after the struggle of 14 hours. He has added that the process of cooling is still continued.
Ehteshamuddin has further said that the fire fighters were late to control the fire because there were chemical drums in the factory. According to the officials, the fire fighters faced difficulties in order to quench the fire due to unavailability of suitable corridors.
The fire tenders from across the city are taking part to stop the fire and after controlling the fire, the process of cooling is continued. A fire fighter was also injured during quenching the fire that was shifted to hospital.
The fire caused creating clefts on the upper storey of the building due to which a part of the building was demolished. All the goods kept into the storage were burnt. According to the officials, the cause of fire could not be ascertained.
