Lahore: Punjabi film makers aim to shift the mood and theme of their films from action and fight to something comedic and light-hearted. Shahid Rana, a veteran film director is making his come back after five years as a director of the film ‘Dunya’ featuring Khwaja Siras. The film is expected to be release by February in the upcoming year.
According to sources, about 70 members of the Khwaja Siras (transgender community) will make their debut and act alongside the film industry’s famous stars including Shafqat Cheema, Moammar Rana, Saima, Rambo, and Nargis.
For the first time in Lollywood history, Pakistan’s favourite villain Shafqat Cheema will be playing a positive role in a Punjabi film as he acts the role of a guru Khwaja Sira while Moammar Rana works as a doctor in a village where he meets Saima.
Another leading character, Rambo, plays Saima’s brother role, who is the sole-breadwinner for their family. He has a burden on his shoulders to earn money for his sister’s dowry in marriage for which he leaves for city.
