The famous Indian Islamic scholar Dr Zakir Naik has been awarded the King Faisal Award in Saudi Arabia for his tremendous services to Islam. Dr Zakir Naik has his own channel on TV, by the name of Peace Television, which airs Islamic based programs. Dr Zakir Naik has inspired many non-Muslims to convert to Islam. He has been a source of enlightenment for many Non-Muslims in India with respect to Islam.
King Faisal International Prize is an annual award that is sponsored by the King Faisal Foundation itself. This award is presented to the dedicated men and women for their contributions. The foundation bestows the prizes under five categories; Islam, Islamic Studies, Arabic Language, Literature, Science and Medicine. Dr Zakir Naik has been awarded for his services to Islam.
The prize in each category consists of a hand written Diwani calligraphy certificate with the summary of the laureate’s work, a commemorative 24 carat, 200 gram gold medal designed according to the prize and cash endowment of SR 750,000.co-winners in any category share the monetary grant. The prizes are awarded in a special ceremony in Riyadh that is held under the patronage of the Kong of Saudi Arabia.
