Dr Farida was the only obstetrician (gynecologist) in East Aleppo before the forces took the city and they were forced to leave the city.
She was the only female doctor because other doctors died in aerial bombardment by Syrian and Russian forces or left Aleppo to save their life.
Her home was bombed by government forces but she was on duty which saved her life. Then she moved to their neighbors’ house with her 8 year old daughter.

She told international media that she decided to live in the besieged city to take care of the pregnant women and new born children because she believed her job was too important which can’t be left.
