Karachi: has demanded of the government to take notice of conspiracies, being hatched to erupt sectarian riots in the metropolis and to take solid action against terrorists. Muhammad Hussain Mehnati was chairing a meeting of Difa e Pakistan Council, at the Idara Noor e Haq, here on Thursday. The meeting reviewed the post sacrilegious film situation, ongoing spree of violence and target killing, and conspiracies against sectarian harmony. Speaking on the occasion, Mehnati said that blasphemy in the pretext of ‘freedom of expression’ would never be tolerated. He said that Western world has to respect the sentiments of Muslims. “Inter faith harmony would only prevail in the world, if stakeholders respect religions and religious faiths of others,” he said adding that Muslims across the world have recorded their protest against the evil designs.
He further said that some nefarious elements, those who sabotage the peaceful protest in Karachi, were hatching conspiracies to erupt sectarian violence and riots. He was of the view that such attempts had been taken in past but remained unfruitful. He also vowed to foil such conspiracies against the unity of Muslim Ummah.
Mehnati held the so-called reconciliation policy of government responsible for deteriorating law and order and prolonged spree of violence and target killing. He urged the government for a firm action against terrorists without any political discrimination, so as a durable peace could be maintained in the city.
Molana Ghulam Mustafa Farooqui of Jamiat Ulma e Islam (Sami group) Hafiz Muhammad Idres, of Insar-Ul-Umma, JI representatives Birjees Ahmed and Nasarullah Shaji and others also attended the meeting.
