The Politicians in Democracy, have over the past few years, with increasing frequency, boldly expressed the intricate details of what democracy has to offer. Democratic Politicians describe democracy in different ways. For Some politicians, Democracy is the best revenge. Some say it needs time (despite multiple failures over past 60 years). Some express how, Police stations are auctioned in it. Some believe it has ‘hope’ to offer. Some reiterate that it needs foreign support to flourish, i.e. support from those who send drones and davis to our cities and towns.
Some blame the people as responsible for choosing the wrong leaders, and some blame the vast majority who do not vote for the present misery. Some suggest we need committees, reforms, dialogue etc to improve this drowning ship of democracy. Moreover some are on record on stating their belief that corruption is their right in democracy and some belittle the mayhem and chaos by stating that worst democracy is better than any dictatorship.
Interestingly after offering such thoughtful and intellectually strong (to the best of their caliber perhaps) arguments in defense of Democracy, these defenders of democracy themselves cunningly suggest that the ‘only’ alternative to democracy is dictatorship, and certainly the masses have seen it failed too, and do not want it as a replacement of dictatorship. While it’s true, that the masses do not want to swap a stinking institution of democracy with a rotten ruling system of dictatorship, however there is a third alternative. This alternative is the Khilafah system, which can solve our problems, and is free from the stains that are all over both democracy and dictatorship.
