The last ten days of Ramadan are highly regarded among the Muslims as the first verse of the holiest book of Allah i.e. Quran Majeed was revealed during this stage. In the last ten days of Ramadan there comes the night of Qadr (the Night of Power), which is better than 1000 months. Allah described it as being better than a thousand months, as He said (interpretation of the meaning): “The night of al-Qadr is better than a thousand months” [al-Qadr 97:3].
According to our Holy Prophet (SAWW), “Whoever established prayers on the night of Qadr out of sincere faith and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven; and whoever fasts in the month of Ramadan out of sincere faith, and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven.”
The month of Ramazan is the month in which Allah, the Exalted, had revealed the Holy Quran. It is also said that the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAWW), initially observed the Itikaf (spiritual retreat) during the first ten days of the month of Ramazan.
