To supplement the efforts of the Chinese government in helping Pakistan fight against the floods in the Sindh province, the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) has sent a 50-member medical team carrying 50 tons of flood relief aid to Pakistan.
The PLA medical team along with the aid reaches Karachi in the afternoon of October 20. They will be transferred to the city of Kunry in southern Sindh.
China is one of the first foreign countries pledging and delivering immediate humanitarian aid to Pakistan in the aftermath of the floods in some parts of the country this year. China has already delivered 7,000 tents worth 4.7 million US dollars in total by air to Karachi and donated 5 million US dollars in cash to Pakistan later.
As a close and friendly neighbor, China feels as much pain as Pakistan does and would like to continue to assist Pakistan to the best of its capability in order to support the Pakistani people overcomes the disaster at an early date.
