Lahore: Test cricketer Azhar Mahmood has said that he will not blindly follow the instructions from the Selection Committee of Pakistan Cricket Board and will look into the negative and positive aspects before making a comeback to the Pakistan side in a series against India.
Earlier, it was reported that PCB is likely to re-call Azhar Mahmood for the all important series because of his good form in the shorter version of game for which they had contacted him to ask his availability.
According to reports, the seasoned campaigner, who has not been a part of the Pakistan team since the 2007 World Cup, could possibly make a comeback in the series against archrivals India in December and January.
Azhar Mahmood, who became a British citizen last year, said that playing for Pakistan was still his priority but he was not in a hurry to decide whether to wear the green shirt or not.
“I’ve heard my name is under consideration, it’s an honour for me but I’m not sure if I will be in agreement to come for just one series. I’ll need a strong offer to make up my mind as I haven’t forgotten what happened to me. I am not a youngster anymore and at the twilight of my career, I will have to ensure a secure future, Mahmood told the media.
