Sydney: Sri Lankans lions roared with a first win in the 2 match series. On a track which supported the bowlers witnessed a low scoring match. Team Australia was restricted by the Lankan bowlers at a low score but a tight end provided the spectators the excitement for what they paid.
Australia winning the toss and batting first managed to reach score of 137 with brilliance of David Warner who scored 90 runs of just 62 deliveries with help of five boundaries and three sixes, none other Australian batsmen was able to play the Sri Lankan bowling attack and made a remarkable score. The Lankan Lions came to bat to achieve the target of 138, the openers after giving a reasonable start returned but the next two followed them quickly and Sri Lanka was 4 down for 69. Reaching the target steadily Sri Lanka needed 11 runs of 9 balls. Thisara Parera who seemed to be in a great touch delivered two big sixes and won the match for his team with 5 wickets and 7 balls to spare.
Sri Lanka now leads the series 1-0, the next match will be played on 28th January.
