Harvard study reveals that eating chocolate is very beneficial for people with heart diseases because it reduces the risk of cardiovascular problems.
The study was conducted by Harvard’s T.H. Chan School of Public Health which found astonishing results of up to 20% reduction in heart related problems, including heart attack.
After examining data of 55,000 people based on observation of 13.5 years the team found that eating chocolate is very helpful in lowering atrial fibrillation risk. It is the most common cause of irregular heartbeats which affects millions around the world.
Among 55,000 only 3,400 were affected by atrial fibrillation and it was found that those who ate more chocolates were at lower risk.
“We’re seeing some real health benefits from eating cocoa. Obviously, eating too much poses other risks, but chocolate, in moderation, can be part of a healthy diet,” Elizabeth Mostofsky, the leading author of the study claimed.
