RAIWIND: The ongoing operation in Raiwind that started at 2 AM last night has been finished. The security forces have controlled over the compound where the terrorists hid themselves and gunned one police constable down whereas 4 police constables sustained serious injuries. The officials called the militants to surrender but they refused. In the meantime, the security forces took stern action and threw hand grenades and fired rockets to the compound. Resultantly, one terrorist killed and one was injured whom the security forces arrested. Police confiscated a motorbike from the compound as well. The Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr Nawaz Sharif was apprised of the situation.
According to details, the elite force of the Punjab police on a tip-off raided terrorists’ hideout in Raiwind late night. The militants started firing which killed 2 police constables and injured 4 others. The terrorists gathered rockets, grenades and other sophisticated weapons in a house In Araiyan Pind, 3 kilometres far from the house of the premier in Jati Umra area. The militants were planning to attack. Meanwhile, the elite force received a tip-off and raided the house. The terrorists resisted and threw hand grenade due to which a police constable was martyred whereas other constables were seriously injured in the attack. The militants used sophisticated weapons in the attack.
According to details, the security forces carefully took action against the militants as the compound was situated in residential area whereas the police stopped firing as hearing the voice of women and children and warned them to surrender. The security forces have expressed their concern that the terrorists were planning to attack the Prime Minister House. On the other hand, the security forces have held the owner of the compound in custody for interrogation. The owner gave the compound on rent for 5 thousands per month.
