Karachi: Pakistan has won the South Asian Body building Championship with 49 points. Shaukat Shahzad won the title of Mr South Asia Pakistan and Fahad Naseem won the title of junior Mister South Asia. The host team won 4 gold, 8 silver and 8 bronze medals, while Afghanistan won 3 gold and Nepal won 2 Gold medals.
Body builders from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Nepal took part in the championship. Afghanistan won 30 points to gain the 2nd position, while Nepal came in 3rd with 10 points. The senior category for 55 kg, was won by Sujan of Nepal, while Pakistan’s Ghulam Abbas came in 2nd and Pakistan’s Muhammad Owais came in 3rd. The category for 60 kg class was won by Nepal’s Gayan Narian, while the 2nd and 3rd positions were secured by Pakistan’s Abid Mehmood and Mujahid Hussain respectively.
In the 65kg class, Qurban Ali (Afghanistan) won the first position while M Imtiaz and Abdurazak of Pakistan claimed the second and third positions respectively. Awais Sajjad of Pakistan won the title of 70kg category while Amjad Yaseen of Pakistan was second and Afghanistan’s Hunner Ahmad third. Pakistan won all three positions in the 75 kg and 80 kg category.
Shaukat Shehzad came first in the weights of more than 90 kg category.
