Karachi: Shabab-e-Milli yesterday staged protest demonstration outside Karachi Press Club against the frequent closure of CNG stations. The protestors held Ogra and CNG Association responsible for shortage of CNG adding the citizens were being punished by favouring the verdict of Supreme Court. They demanded the immediate action against the closure of CNG stations in the light of the government directives in respect of Load Management Plan.
Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Muhammad Hussain Mahenti, President Shabab-e-Milli Karachi Saifuddin, General Secretary Shabab-e-Milli Karachi, Vice President Usman Farooq, Farhaat Gul, Mehmood Hamid and Hafiz-ul-Haq were delivering their address on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Mahenti said despite the clear directives of apex court regarding the availability of CNG at cheaper rate, the said fuel was not available due to frequent closure of CNG stations, which was a sheer injustice with the people of the city.
He further added the Ogra and CNG Association were befooling the people through their drama to hold discussions over the said issue. Mahenti congratulated the leadership of Shabab-e-Milli to raise its concern over the burning issue. On the occasion, JI Karachi Ameer demanded to end the said artificial shortage of CNG and ensure availability of the fuel at the rate fixed by Supreme Court.
President Shahab-e-Milli said the shortage of CNG fuel was the joint nexus of Ogra and CNG Association. He demanded prompt action against the CNG mafia, who involved in fleecing the people by providing CNG fuel at high price.
