Karachi: A ceremony of laying the foundation stone for the development work for the extension of Al-Khidmat Hospital Orangi Town, phase-III was performed at the site of the hospital. The extension programme would incorporate Neonatal Nursery, Modern Laboratory, General Hospital, Emergency and other facilities while the existing hospital would also be upgraded to 30-bed hospital. Former City Nazim Naimatullah Khan Advocate, Dr Hafeez Ur Rehman and others performed stone laying ceremony of the extension of the hospital by digging the soil. Former City Nazim Karachi Naimatullah Khan Advocate, Al-Khidmat Foundation Pakistan President Dr Hafeez Ur Rehman, Jamaat-e Islami Karachi Ameer Muhammad Hussain Mahenti, General Secretary Naseem Siddiqui, Al-Khidmat Foundation Secretary Engineer Abdul Aziz, District West Ameer Ishaque Khan, Deputy Ameers Muhammad Laiq Khan, Aziz Baig Qasmi, Dollar Ink Director Abdul Rasheed, Khalifa Anwar, Liaquat Abdullah and other were present.
Speaking on the occasion, Naimatullah Khan Advocate said that the extension programme was a gift to the people of Orangi as they would avail emergency medical services at the hospital after completion of the extension project. He said that the poverty had deprived the common man of basic medical facility but the Al-Khidmat Hospital would address their medical issues and thus they would get relief.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Hafeez Ur Rehman said that in Pakistan, around 24,000 children die of hunger and unrest was fast prevailing across the world. The well-off people of the country should come forward to help reduce the grievances of the depressed poor. In his address, Naseem Siddiqui said that Jamaat-e Islami was struggling for the betterment of the common man and all of its operations were solely aimed at seeking Almighty Allah blessing and forgiveness.
He assured that Jamaat-e Islami would allocate a huge fund for the development of the Al-Khidmat Hospital in next budget. Al-Khidmat Foundation Secretary Engineer Abdul Aziz on the occasion assured the administration of the hospital of full cooperation and support. District West Ameer Ishaque Khan appealed to the rich of the country to extend their monetary contributions for the welfare works.
