Pakistani mangoes are famous all over the world despite the fact that the production of mangoes in Pakistan is far less than other countries such as India. There are dozens of types of mangoes in Pakistan with different prices.
Types of Mangoes:
It is estimated that there are more than 250 types & varieties of mangoes in Pakistan but only few are grown on commercial bases. Some of the famous types of Pakistani mangoes are Sindhri, Langra, Sonaro, Dasheri, Saroli, Anwar Ratol & Chaunsa. A juice called Chaunsa of Nestle is also available in Pakistan which is very high in demand in the public.
Mango Growing Areas of Pakistan:
The major production of Mangoes is from Punjab especially from Multan, Bahawalpur, Muzaffargarh & Rahim Yar Khan. In Sindh the mango growing areas are Mirpur Khas, Hyderabad and Thatta districts. It is also grown in Mardan, Peshawar and D I Khan.

Pakistan Beats India in Global Market:
Despite the fact that Indian grows more mangoes than Pakistan with an annual production of 18.42 million tones in 2014 when Pakistan produced just 1.72 million tones. But yet Pakistan exported more mangoes than India.
The main market for Pakistani mangoes is countries from European Union while Indian Mangoes are more exported to the Middle East. Each year the demand of Indian mangoes is decreasing due to the quality of the fruit.
Another interesting thing is that each year Pakistani government sends a box of Pakistani mangoes to Indian Prime Minister, sometimes the president and ministers also receive these boxes. It is commonly referred as Mango Diplomacy.
